The Roller Run was established during the Mansfield Village Cornbread Festival in 2004 to promote family fun & festivities at a good ‘ole fashioned car show in the historic village of Mansfield, Indiana. The name reflects the historic 1860’s roller mill still in operation today in the tiny village of Mansfield in west central Indiana. The promoter’s first love is street rods (her daddy’s ‘33 Plymouth Coupe was put together the same year she was born back in 1969…); but, she’ll also tell you: If it has Wheels & Leather...Bring It!!!
The Mansfield Village Cornbread Festival is one of 8 Festivals held in Mansfield Village during the year. It is a three-day event happening September 6th & 7th in 2008. All events are held in the quaint village along the banks of Big Raccoon Creek. Besides the Roller Run, other highlights for the weekend include the village shoppes, festival foods, free tours at the Mansfield Roller Mill, the Proud of Our Country parade on Saturday, an RV Rally, and the grand finale country concert in the HI-99 Summer Outdoor Concert Series.
The Roller Run is located at Hilltop Farm of Mansfield Parke. The venue includes the covered Indiana National Guard Pavilion for a sheltered spot to enjoy the music during the FREE Oldies Concert on Sunday afternoon (before the awards ceremony). Seating is provided under the Pavilion on a first come, first serve basis. There are several blacktop lanes at Hilltop Farm and some shady spots for guests to enjoy the view from a lawn chair. A modern restroom facility is located on-site.
The weekend wouldn’t be complete without ham ‘n beans simmering around the village. Sample delicious varieties of cornbread with a bowl of this annual treat. Other foods will also be available.
